Every day is a new day for the ongoing #MeToo revelations. The latest accused in Pakistan is the famous stand-up comedian Junaid Akram. Several women have come forward within few days blaming him for inappropriate behavior, sexual harassment and manipulating young girls.
Several women took to social media sharing the screen shots of the conversation held with Junaid Akram on various social networking sites. One girl has claimed that Junaid Akram didn’t harass her but lied about his marital status.
Famous TV anchorperson Rabia Anum in a tweet, hinted about him without quoting his name. sooner than later several people came replying identifying him on Rabia Anum’s tweet.
Amid of sexual harassment allegations, Junaid Akram also took to social media categorically denying all such claims. And intends to take legal action against the accusers.
In a tweet he wrote, “I have come across some distressing tweets/posts on social media disparaging/defaming me and my name. I would like to state categorically that the assertions made in such tweets are absolutely false, and that I intend to pursue my legal remedies so as to protect myself”.
In next tweet he added, “In relation to this, I have already met my legal team, and the wheels have already been set in motion to bring to book those who are trying to hurt me and people associated with me. God bless”.
