Muniba Mazari’s Ex-husband Sues Her For Defamation Once Again

In a rather unfortunate turn of events, especially after Muniba Mazari took her first step (albeit aid of robotics) she has now been served with a legal notice by her ex-husband Khurram Shehzad, once again.
Earlier Shahzad had filed a defamation suit against Muniba in November 2017 but withdrew it in January 2018 because as a prior requirement under defamation law, he had failed to serve Mazari a prior legal notice in advance.
According to the new lawsuit, Khurram Shahzad has dropped the demand of Rs 10 million he had put up in his first defamation notice. The new notice calls for Mazari to remove derogatory tweets made against Shehzad, render an apology and also pay general damages.
Khurram Shehzad maintains that Muniba Mazari has represented him as a “as a cruel, selfish, hardened, cheater and heartless person” multiple times for sympathy.
Mazari has now been served by a court notice to respond to the complaint by Islamabad court by June 1st.
In the petition filed, Shehzad has also been granted a temporary injunction that restrains Muniba from making any defaming comments against him. Moreover, Khurram has also sought directions from Pemra to restrain Muniba from making derogatory statements on TVs, and from the PTA to remove or block the disputed statements that are present online.
