NYFW 2018 (spring) was a huge success as always. Even though, there were many expected designers that did not show up in the main event, they were still featured and the show was liked overall. According to Vogue,

“This is what the future of New York fashion looks like.”

It is observed that newer and younger designers often standout because of their non-cliche approach towards outfits, accessories, hair and makeup. However, many bigger designer brands did not fail to impress. Here are the top designers from previous NYFW.

  • Calvin Klein
  • Michael Kors
  • Christian Siriano
  • Ralph Lauren
  • Coach 941
  • Tom Ford

The shows are starting from Wednesday, September 5 (including the night shows on September 5, a night before the official star of NYFW). An interesting thing is that we are going to witness a designer’s solo collection debut. Yes, Chris Peters, one of the masterminds behind the duo Creatures of the Wind, will be presenting his first solo collection under the label CDLM. Along with that, we have Tom Ford to hit the runway on the first show. Not only the new guards, but fashion establishments are also going to have a very busy week.

People should expect to see a lot of new menswear this season. Because this season, Emporio ArmaniLemaire and Haider Ackermann are going to hit the runway with male models, just like Gucci and Calvin Klein. There are going to be a lot of unisex pieces as well, by Laura Kim and Monse, which are going to be presented on male models. Norma Kamali, after spending decades in the business, is finally going to launch her first menswear collection. In the past, she has mostly worked on unisex fashion.
