Actress Nimra Khan Narrowly Escapes Kidnapping Attempt in Karachi

"I am Muslim proudly but I am sorry being Pakistani I [don't know] what should I say," she wrote

Actress Nimra Khan on Tuesday taking to social media recounted a harrowing attempted abduction that took place in Karachi’s affluent Defense Housing Authority (DHA) neighbourhood.

In a poignant Instagram video, Khan detailed the frightening incident that occurred while she was waiting for her family outside the Ramada Creek Club. She revealed that three armed assailants approached her and attempted to kidnap her by force.

Nimra described how one of the attackers even pressed a loaded gun to her stomach as she fought to resist them, all while frantically screaming for help. “I was standing there with my hands full, holding my phone and bags, when these thugs approached and attempted to abduct me,” she recalled. “I screamed and called for help, but even the guards sitting right in front of me did nothing.”

According to Mimra, she miraculously managed to escape and ran toward a busy road, where she flagged down a passing car. The family inside, along with the entire Ramada team, came to her aid and ensured her safety.

In her emotional testimony, Nimra expressed deep disappointment and a sense of vulnerability as a citizen of Pakistan, where she claims to be a diligent taxpayer yet still lives in constant fear for her life on the streets.

“I am so tired of this false sense of patriotism when citizens can’t even feel safe in their own country,” Nimra said, visibly shaken by the ordeal.

“I am Muslim proudly but I am sorry being Pakistani I [don’t know] what should I say,” she wrote in the video’s caption.
