Pakistani actor Moammar Rana enters politics

Being an entertainer does not restrain you from being a well-informed citizen and qualified public servant. Be it Hollywood, Bollywood or our very own Pakistan entertainment industry, the list of actors turned politicians is long and the latest addition is Pakistani film and TV veteran star, Moammar Rana.

Moammar who recently made his big screen comeback with Azaadi has now joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He made the decision in a meeting with chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday where Chaudhry Manzoor, Hassan Murtaza, Shazia Abid, Sadaqat Niazi and other PPP leaders were also present. The actor says that PPP was the only party that believed in the promotion of culture.

He decided to become an actor around two decades ago and since then, has starred in numerous Urdu and Punjabi movies. Other than doing local films and dramas, Moammar has also worked in two Bollywood movies.

The actor turned politician is also set to make his debut as a film director for the film Sikander in which he will also be seen playing the lead role.
