Pakistan’s legendary voice of broadcasting Taskeen Zafar passes away

Pakistan’s legendary voice of broadcasting Taskeen Zafar passed away in Rawalpindi on Sunday after a brief illness. She was 67.
Her Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered at 4:30 pm at Eidgah, Lalkurti in Rawalpindi.
Born in Rawalpindi in 1957, Taskeen Zafar’s broadcasting career spanned over four decades.
She joined Radio Pakistan as an announcer in 1980 and later joined Pakistan Television as a news anchor and hosted music programmes.
She also hosted programmes on Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Radio Pakistan’s senior newscaster Taskeen Zafar.
In a statement, Tarar said he was deeply saddened to hear the news of Taskeen Zafar’s death.
He said Taskeen Zafar was a talented and experienced newscaster. He said her death has resulted in an irreparable loss not only to Radio Pakistan but to the entire media industry.
The Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Taskeen Zafar.
He prayed for eternal peace for the deceased and patience for her bereaved family.
Secretary Information and Broadcasting Shahera Shahid expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Radio Pakistan’s senior newscaster Taskeen Zafar.
In her condolence message, she said Taskeen Zafar was an asset of Radio Pakistan and the void created by her demise will never be filled.
The Secretary of Information said Taskeen Zafar’s services to Radio Pakistan will always be remembered.
Extending condolences to the bereaved family of the late Taskeen Zafar, she prayed for eternal peace and patience for her family.
Director General Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Shaikh also expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of legendary broadcaster and Radio Pakistan’s Urdu Newscaster Taskeen Zafar.
Expressing his sympathies with the bereaved family, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and forbearance for the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
