Prime Minister Imran Khan Congratulates Yasir Shah For Becoming Fastest Bowler To Reach 200 Test Wickets

On Thursday, Yasir Shah, broke an 82 year old record held by an Australian bowler and became the fastest bowler to achieve 200 test wickets.

The 32-year-old leg spinner trapped nightwatchman Will Somerville leg before for four, his second wicket of the New Zealand second innings , to reach the milestone in his 33rd Test, beating Australian leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett’s record of 36 Tests achieved against South Africa in Johannesburg in 1936.

Last week, Yasir Shah had equaled Imran Khan’s record for 14 wickets in a test match, against New Zealand. And now, upon breaking the record, Shah, has earned praise and critical acclaim not only from cricket fanatics but also Prime Minister Imran Khan, who himself, was an ace bowler back in time.

Eversince he took seven wickets during his debut against Australia in 2014, Yasir Shah has been a key figure in Pakistan’s Test team and the way he continues to improve his game, it seems, Yasir Shah still has a lot more to accomplish.
