Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Spending Private Christmas in Canada
After opening up about continuous public attention recently, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are now opting to stay in Canada for a low-key private Christmas holiday with their son Archie.
“Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are spending private family time in Canada,” said a spokeswoman for the royal couple.
While adding further, the spokeswoman said, “The decision to base themselves in Canada reflects the importance of this Commonwealth country to them both.”
Albeit that the couple’s stay in Canada is seen as a diplomatic move, it is in actual Harry and Meghan’s attempt to get away from the routine royal celebrations on Christmas.
Earlier, the couple was expected to return to the UK – after a month-long stay with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland – to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth. However, this will not be the case as the Sussexes enjoy an intimate Christmas in Canada.
“Prince Harry, Meghan, and Archie, we’re all wishing you a quiet and blessed stay in Canada,” Prime Minister Canada Justin Trudeau tweeted.
