Qasim Ali Shah’s appointment as Al-Hamra Arts Council Chairperson has been challenged in court!

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi appointed motivational speaker and YouTuber Qasim Ali Shah as the Chairman Board of Governors Al Hamra last week.

According to the report, the petitioner, who challenged the decision of the chairperson of Qasim Ali Shah’s Al Hamra Art Council in the Lahore High Court, is of the view that the caretaker government has awarded the people of their liking.

The petition is reported to have been filed by Citizen Mohammad Ali through Advocate Rida Noor.

Other members of the board including caretaker Chief Minister Punjab have been made parties in the petition.

The filed petition states that the caretaker government has appointed Qasim Ali Shah as the chairperson of the Al Hamra Art Council for three years, the caretaker chief minister has made the appointment to reward the people he likes, the caretaker chief minister has not made such an appointment. There is no option while the persons concerned for the post of Board of Governors should belong to the field of art or culture.

The petitioner further contends that other members including Qasim Ali Shah have nothing to do with art or culture.

The petitioner requests that the appointment of members of the Board of Governors, including Qasim Ali Shah, should be annulled and the Caretaker Chief Minister should be restrained from making appointments outside the jurisdiction.

Motivational speaker and YouTuber Qasim Ali Shah has been named the chairman of the board of governors of the Al Hamra Arts Council, Lahore.

Following the news of his appointment, many netizens have shown their dismay over the decision.
