Rabi Pirzada acquitted in case of possessing wild animals

A district sessions court in Lahore has acquitted former singer Rabi Pirzada in the case related to illegal possession of wild animals including crocodile, snake, lion, and other exotic creatures.

On Thursday, the judicial magistrate of Model Town Haris Siddiqui announced the verdict of the case against the former singer.

Rabi Peerzada, after her acquittal in the case, expressed gratitude over the court’s decision and showed her willingness to introduce an awareness campaign for the protection of animals in the coming times while working in collaboration with the wildlife department.

In September 2019, the wildlife department of Pakistan had filed a case against Pirzada for her illegal act of keeping wild creatures as her pet animals.

The move came following Rabi’s social media posts presenting pictures and videos with wild animals which drew wildlife’s department attention.
