Rahat Fateh Ali Khan pays tribute to Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on his 24th death anniversary.

The legendary Qawwali maestro, popularly known as “Shahenshah-e-Qawwali” Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan passed away at the age of 48 on August 16, 1997, leaving behind a legacy of over 125 albums.

Rahat took to Instagram and shared his photo with a portrait of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan along with a heartfelt tribute.

“Always in our hearts Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan The legend“, he captioned his post on Instagram.

“There can only be one Nusrat, my mentor, my teacher, and my ustad,” he added.

 

Back in 2020, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the music maestro released the remake of the evergreen song ‘Sanson Ki Mala’.

The song originally was sung by the legendry Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and his student and nephew, Rahat regards this latest remake as a tribute to Ustad Nusrat.

World-famous Pakistani singer said, Sanson Ki Mala (is) a qawwali very close to my heart and this time, it has been presented as a fusion track, conceptualised by Salman Ahmed”.

“I dedicate the release to my mentor Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and my father Ustad Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan. The video of the song is unique, with its locations and the entire feel mesmerising”, he added.
