Remove Priyanka Chopra from UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Pakistanis are signing petition

#SayNoToWar hashtag has been doing rounds across social media as tension between Pakistan and India escalated significantly in the past few days.

But unfortunately as the tension between India and Pakistan escalated many of the Bollywood prominent celebrities came in talking in favour of war before Pakistan shot down Indian fighter planes and captured Indian pilot.

Many Indian celebrities including Priyanka propagated for war praising the Indian forces for stepping into the Pakistani border.

In wake of Priyanka Chopra’s remarks, a few petitions are being floated in social media which demands the removal of Priyanka Chopra as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

The petition is drafted by a person named Ayesha K. which states: “War between two nuclear powers can only lead to destruction & death. As goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, Priyanka Chopra was supposed to stay neutral & peaceful but her tweet in favour of Indian armed forces after they invaded Pakistan airspace shows otherwise. She doesn’t deserve this title anymore”.

Another person named Rabia M. came forward drafting an online petition, saying: “Priyanka Chopra doesn’t deserve to be a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN.

In an attempt to express her nationalism towards her country India, she tweeted her support for the Indian Air Force’s violation of entering into Pakistan’s territory.

War destroys the lives of innocent people on both sides of the border and must be condemned at any cost. Considering her role as the Ambassador of child rights and education for girls, Chopra needs to learn a lesson on how devastating the impact of war can be, especially for children”.

“She must realize the significance of the position she holds and United Nations must take back her ambassadorship since she is neither an ambassador of goodwill nor for peace”, petition further said.

Many people have come forward asking others to sign these petition and are also sharing the link on social media.
