Rhea Chakraborty Gets Bail in Sushant Singh Rajput’s Drug and Suicide Case

Earlier last month Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of India arrested a Bollywood actress for allegedly procuring and supplying drugs to her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput which ultimately led to his suicide. The court however has granted bail to Rhea on the grounds of no evidence in the case so far and her clean record.

“Chakraborty is not part of a chain of drug dealers and has not forwarded the drugs allegedly procured by her to somebody else, to earn monetary other benefits,” said the court in its bail order.

“Since she has no criminal antecedents, there are reasonable grounds for believing that she is not likely to commit any offence while on bail,” the court added as it granted the Jalebi actress bail for a bond of Rs1 lac.

In September Rhea and her brother Showik were arrested by NCB after Sushant’s family accused Rhea of supplying drugs to the actor and abetting in his death for monetary gain. The actress’s brother still remains in judicial custody.
