Saheefa Jabbar Khattak popular model turned actress has responded to criticism from social media users for selling pre-loved clothes.
It all started as the Log Kya Kahenge star sold a few of her pre-loved clothes online but her action was not received well by social media users.
The pre-loved items, (term used for secondhand or used products) included clothes from international high-street brand Zara to some from New Look high-end ranges and were claimed to be barely used and some were not even worn by the model-cum-actor.
Saheefa took to Instagram again and listed the questions she was asked for selling preloved items.
“Hello, I hope you all are doing well, and for those who aren’t I pray that God blesses you with good health,” Saheefa wrote, responding to the criticism.
“When I posted a collection of items regarding selling my clothes yesterday, many of you messaged with your own share of questions which left me confused, to say the least. I was muddled whether I shall answer those queries but then I decided why not, in case anyone’s left with a misunderstanding,” the style icon added.
“Is it necessary to always announce the good deed you’re about to perform?” she added.
“Is it also compulsory that anything a public figure does, has to be questioned with negativity? What will a less fortunate person do with ‘branded’ clothes when his first and last concern is to be able to afford a meal, must I feed them clothes?” the actress inquired.
“I decided to host this so-called sale only to profit out of what I’m selling. The more I profit, the more I can give back to the people who are in dire need of some help. The dollar currency was on fire when I purchased the items myself,” she added.
She went on to say, “When you have the option to ignore, unfollow, block, or remove the person you disagree with or do not like then why waste energy by leaving negative remarks?”
“Like every Ramzan, this year I pray that Allah melts the hearts of all of his people, softens them, and makes them fragrant as ever. And for those who spew nothing but hate, make their tongues as sweet as gulab jamun,” Khattak concluded.
