Saif Ali Khan Stabbing Update: Mumbai Police Arrest Bangladeshi National as Prime Suspect

In a shocking incident that has rattled the Indian film industry, a man believed to be a citizen of Bangladesh was arrested in Mumbai on Sunday and is now considered the prime suspect in the stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
The attack, which took place on Thursday, left Khan with serious injuries but he is now reported to be out of danger and has been discharged from the hospital.
Authorities have identified the suspect, who was using the alias Vijay Das, as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad.

According to police, Shehzad entered India illegally and had been residing in Mumbai for five to six months, working for a local housekeeping agency. Following the attack on Khan at his residence, police detained two other individuals before zeroing in on Shehzad as the main perpetrator.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam revealed that primary evidence suggests Shehzad’s involvement in the crime. A portion of the knife used in the attack was recovered from Khan’s home, bolstering the case against him. The police are now seeking custody of Shehzad for further investigation as they delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding this alarming event.
The incident has ignited calls for enhanced security measures within Mumbai, with many residents and members of the film industry expressing their concerns over safety in the city. As investigations continue, the focus remains on ensuring justice for Khan and addressing public safety issues.
