Amongst a lot of rumors, the latest doing rounds is that Sara Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan’s and Amrita Singh’s daughter has taken a bow from Hindi Medium 2, for which she was said to be playing the part of the grown up daughter of Irrfan Khan.
It is being reported that Saif Ali Khan too had been considering the script along with Sara for a potential role, focusing on launching his daughter in the industry.
According to Indian media, “The father-daughter drama was supposed to roll out in March 2019. They were talking about shooting it in London and Mumbai. Though Saif and Sara had not signed the contract, they had agreed verbally. The team was also looking out for an older heroine to play Sara’s mother.”
Adding further, the source also stated, “Saif was keen on doing the film only because it had Sara as the leading lady. Although it’s a great script, he, too, is reconsidering the offer for now.”
Hindi Medium producer had earlier confirmed that the script for the sequel was ready and pre-production had started for the film. For now, Sara Ali Khan, who was to be the leading lady of the film has excused herself from the sequel citing schedule issues and now, a new face will be hunted down to play Piya.
For now, Sara is busy working on two potential projects, Simmba starring Ranveer Singh and also Kedarnath, opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, which will also mark her debut in Bollywood.
Hindi Medium, directed by Saket Chaudhry marked Pakistani actress, Saba Qamar’s Bollywood debut alongside Irrfan Khan. The story revolved around a couple Raj and Mita and their daughter Piya and how the parents struggled to get their daughter enrolled in the best English medium schools in town.
