Sajal Aly, Adnan Siddiqui engage in a face-off over LSA ‘improvised’ national anthem.

It was the other day when senior actor turned producer Adnan criticized improvised national anthem at a Lux Style Awards event and termed it disrespectful.

The anthem, which Roy produced to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s creation, features the lyrics as the original,  however, some of the more modern instruments used to create the melody were replaced with traditional ones.

Actor Sajal Aly was swift to respond to Adana Siddiqui’s criticism and defended Shehzad Roy and Wahab Bugti, she commented that both broke no law.

She said: “As a Pakistani and an artist, I found the diversity of my country reflected in this rendition of the national anthem beautiful. I found it healing. Shehzad Roy and Wahab Bugti broke no law. They breached no protocol. Their rendition reflected the values of our Constitution and remained true to the original anthem.”

You asked for thoughts. These are mine. Feel free to disagree :)
