For over a decade, Salman Khan has been doing quite a lot of noble work through his Being Human Foundation and this time as Coronavirus has brought many under financially troubled circumstances, the actor took it upon his shoulders to look after those who need him the most.
Pledging to take responsibility of as many as 25,000 daily wagers of Bollywood, the superstar has stepped up for the underprivileged segment of his fraternity as India undergoes a 21-day lockdown due to Coronavirus.
“We have about 5 lac workers out of which 25,000 are in dire need of financial help. Being Human Foundation said they will take care of these workers on their own,” Express Tribune reported Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) president B N Tiwari.
Tiwari added, “They have asked for account details of these 25,000 workers as they want to ensure that the money reaches them directly. The remaining 4,75,000 workers can survive for about a month.”
Salman’s father, veteran actor Salim Khan too praised his son’s philanthropy and emphasized on the need of directly providing help to the needy ones.
“I don’t want to comment on it as I don’t know much about it,” said senior Khan on Salman’s recent initiative. “But our family has a principle: Hamara paise jahan jaaye, waha dikhna chahiye aur kisi ke kaam aana chahiye,” he added.
