Pakistan senior film star Shaan Shahid is irrked with PTV for buying foreign content and airing Turkish series Diriliş: Ertuğrul on the national television.

His Twitter timeline is full of reservations against the national television for not producing anything original in means of content and despite financial losses, PTV recently started to air a foreign bought series that was dubbed in Urdu for local audiences on PM Imran Khan’s special request.

In his recent tweet, while sharing old PTV’s financial loss report, Shaan hit at the  PTV for not producing any new content.

“#ptv .@ImranKhanPTI no new plays, no new content, only huge losses this is a report from 2017 but nothing has changed it is in ruins, what a great legacy it had and what a dark present and future it holds. you can’t be successful on other’s success”, he wrote.

Furthermore, he seems not to be pleased with the decision to air a Turkish historic series on the national channel.

While addressing PM Imran Khan he said, “Sir, I believe in this economic crisis we were not supporting imports, then why cultural imports are open. Why Ptv showing imported dramas believe in your own talent and history. With your supportive policies, we can bring Pakistani productions on the entertainment map of the world”.

Instead, the Waar starrer wants to celebrate Pakistani local heroes and actors. He has started sharing a few profiles form his last year tweets under the hashtag #LetsBringOurPrideBack.

“These are the heroes of our nation, their stories must be told. And there are so many more that our history has not forgotten but the people have. We need to transfer our pride to our children our stories our successes,” he said.
