Shaan Shahid has a message for Prime Minister Imran Khan

Pakistani actor, writer and director, Shaan Shahid has time and again spoken about cultural exchange and policies to favour the state of the entertainment industry. In 2017, he took to his social media and submitted a “humble request” to ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif requesting the export of films.

“Sir if you are making a committee for the Indian films so they can be shown in Pakistan. Please make a committee so that the Pakistani films can be shown in India also. As culture should not only be imported. It can (be) exported also.”

The request came after the news that Nawaz Sharif had formed a committee, headed by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryum Aurangzeb, to look into the matter of clearance of Indian films.

This time Shaan has a request for the current Prime Minister, Imran Khan and people assume it’s in response to Vasay Chaudhry’s resignation from the Punjab Cultural Advisory Council which also includes Shaan and Syed Noor.

Sharing a picture of his Time Magazine cover, Shaan wrote, “Dear prime minister sir we need a culture policy , I believe the potential in the entertainment industry is huge , if we want to export more then import then we must concrete our industries and entertainment industry is waiting for a policy.”

Time will tell if  Imran Khan will introduce policies to strengthen the entertainment industry.
