Cricketer turned philanthropist Shahid Afridi has taken it upon his shoulders to help restore the only public library in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Lala took it to Twitter to make the announcement after a concerned citizen brought his attention to the library that is currently in shambles.
“The only public library in entire District Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has turned into a garbage dump. It needs urgent restoration,” a local tweeted alongside pictures of the library.
Following the tweet, the cricketer came forward and offered services of his philanthropic organization, Shahid Afridi Foundation.
“It’s heart-wrenching to see the only library in District Tank, KP, closed for over 15 years now. Youth is our future & education is paramount to their development. I will ensure restoration of this library with the help of my foundation,” tweeted the former star cricketer.
