United Nations Secretary General António Guterres is in Pakistan for a three-day visit to highlight the Afghan refugees issue. Albeit that his presence is being talked about everywhere, it’s an excerpt from the press meet and greet with the secretary that caught aced director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s attention.
“One of the main purposes of my visit is to spotlight the real Pakistan — with all its possibility and potential,” said Guterres while talking to media as he emphasized on highlighting Pakistan’s positives.
“I strongly believe it is time for the world to step back and look at Pakistan through a wider frame,” the secretary general stated at the event.
“From the courageous example of Malala Yousafzai … to the giving spirit of Abdul Sattaar Edhi … to the visual artistry and advocacy of Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy,” he added.
Sharmeen, who holds an international presence through her work was humble to thank the secretary for highlighting the work she and other Pakistani women have been doing for the betterment of the country and its women.
“Thank you UN Secretary General António Guterres for recognizing the work women do to create a more inclusive, safe & progressive Pakistan,” said the Saving Face director on her Instagram.
