Acclaimed folk singer Shazia Khushk who is best known for her song Daney Pe Dana, has bid farewell to the showbiz industry on the back of religious concerns. The singer now intends to serve Islam for the rest of her life.
“I really took my time to think about what I wanted to do at this stage in my life… I’m certain that I won’t want to join this field [showbiz] again,” said the singer while talking to Express Tribune.
She added that despite numerous singing offers from overseas, she has chosen to discontinue singing as it clashes with her religious beliefs.
“I’m grateful to my fans for loving my songs and hope that they will strongly support me in my new move,” said the singer who has had a singing career of over 25 years.
