Sonam Kapoor Sparks Outrage for Tone-Deaf ‘Privilege’ Tweet
Since Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide on June 14, star kids of the fraternity and their Godfather are being criticized for ganging up on outsiders and promoting nepotism. Among those is none other than Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, daughter of Anil Kapoor, who is amongst the foremost targets of Sushant’s fans.
To make matters worse, after losing over a million Instagram followers, Sonam decided to post a tone-deaf tweet reeking of her privilege on Father’s Day. And if that wasn’t enough, she further agitated the netizens by stating that being born in a well to do household is because of her karma.
“Today on Father’s Day id like to say one more thing, yes I’m my father’s daughter and yes I am here because of him and yes I’m privileged,” tweeted the Neerja actress.

“That’s not an insult, my father has worked very hard to give me all of this,” she wrote while making a bit sense.
“And it is my karma where I’m born and to whom I’m born. I’m proud,” she concluded in the most tone-deaf manner.

Soon netizens were irked at the Ranjhana actress’s sense of entitled and many called her out for not only promoting nepotism in Bollywood but also endorsing casteism on social media.
The actress earlier had turned off comments on all her social media accounts and her parents. She also shared hate messages and uncalled backlash she had been receiving after Sushant’s death. However, soon after this tweet – made the day – Sonam once again drew ire of netizens.
