Swedish DJ and producer Avicii suddenly passes away

Two times Grammy nominee Tom Bergling, Swedish DJ famously known as Avicii has passed away at the age of 28. News was confirmed by the publicist to the media. The DJ was found dead on Friday afternoon in Mascat, Oman. It is being reported that he was suffering from bad health conditions. Earlier the DJ had already retired from performing live in 2016. The star had suffered from health problems, including acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking. He had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014.


A statement was issued by his publicist, which reads as, ‘It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii. He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given’.

Avicii’s music publisher Sony/ATV Music Publishing has also issued the statement in reaction to the sudden dismal news of Aviccii’s death, ‘We are mourning the incredibly sad loss of an exceptionally creative talent who we have been honored and proud to represent as one of our songwriters for a number of years. Our thoughts are with his family at this time’.


DJ Avicii has also collaborated with the likes of Madonna and Coldplay. His club anthems include Wake Me Up, Hey Brother, and recently, Lonely Together with Rita Ora.
