The famous Turkish author Elif Shafak has lauded Nobel laureate, Malala Yousufzai, for her commitment to girls’ education and activism.
The Forty Rules of Love writer, in an Instagram post, shared Yesterday I had a talk at Oxford University Lady Margaret Hall; there was a wonderfully engaged and young and diverse audience and among them how great it was to see and then meet Malala, whose courage and deep commitment to girls’ education I wholeheartedly salute and admire.
The Guardian’s former editor Alex Rusbridger, who was also at the Shafak’s talk, shared the account of meeting in a tweet. Alex wrote, “@lmhoxford can be the most extraordinary melting pot for provocative ideas and amazing women”.
Oxford this season seems to be a melting pot, as many of the famous international celebs have been visiting the university. It was last week when Malala had a meeting with teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg at Oxford.
