Veteran artists mourn demise of Shoaib Hashmi

Veteran artists took to social media to extend tributes as they mourn the demise of Shoaib Hashmi.

Legendary playwright, actor, teacher, and literary genius Shoaib Hashmi passed away aged 84 on Monday after a prolonged illness.

 He has been a  renowned figure in the theatre world. 

Hashmi is well known for his contributions to Pakistan Television. He appeared in several dramas and TV shows during the 70s.

Some of his iconic productions for PTV include Akkar Bakkar, Sach Gup, Taal Matol, and Balila.

Khalid Anum regarded his death as an “irreplaceable loss.”

Shoaib Hashmi or Pappi to those he loved will always be remembered for his iconic playwrights.
