Popular vlogger Rajab Ali Butt has been convicted for the illegal possession of a lion cub!
A special judicial magistrate convicted vlogger Rajab Ali Butt on Friday for unlawfully possessing a lion cub and has mandated one year of community service as an alternative to imprisonment.
The verdict, issued by Magistrate Hamidul Rehman Nasir, specifies that Butt must create and record a five-minute vlog each month dedicated to animal rights, starting from February 2025 through January 2026.
Butt, who has gained significant fame on platforms like YouTube and TikTok, was arrested in December 2024 after authorities conducted a raid at his residence in Lahore.
This action was prompted by allegations of wildlife violations and the illegal display of firearms, with the lion cub reportedly being a gift from his recent lavish wedding ceremony.
Following his arrest, Butt pleaded guilty to possessing the cub without the necessary licenses or permits.
The case has drawn considerable public attention, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding the illegal ownership of exotic animals and the implications of public figures promoting such behaviour.
