10 employees at ‘Punjab Governor House’ test positive for COVID-19

As many as 10 employees at the Governor House Punjab tested positive for coronavirus, it emerged on Tuesday.

According to a spokesperson, 133 employees of the Governor House were tested for the infectious disease. The infected employees have quarantined themselves in their homes.

The spokesperson said that the Punjab Governor Ch. Sarwar himself tested negative and is busy with the usual work, adding that, “all possible precautions are being taken at the Governor House to safeguard against the virus”.

So the the province has recorded 40,819 infections and 683 deaths from the lethal infection.

Punjab government will re-impose a lockdown in neighbourhoods with highest number of COVID-19 cases to halt the spread of viral disease, the provincial health minister said on Tuesday.

The provincial health minister, Yasmin Rashid while speaking to media said that the government had warned earlier that the number of cases will rise.

Rashid said that the decision to re-impose the lockdown in several neighbourhoods will be taken by the cabinet committee.
