A doctor serving at a quarantine centre in Sukkur has tested positive for COVID-19, district health officer confirmed on Thursday.
According to reports, about 265 pilgrims, who had returned from Iran and were quarantined in the Labour Colony facility in Sukkur, have tested positive with the pathogen.
The doctor had been transferred at the quarantine centre since the day it had become operational, fellow doctors said, adding he is looking forward to be recovered and resuming his duties.
Earlier, a doctor in Gilgit-Baltistan died due to the coronavirus, he contracted the virus while taking care of infected patients.
Doctors and paramedical staff in many cities of Sindh are not satisfied with both the training provided to them for dealing with infected patients of the highly contagious disease and the safety equipment provided to them.
