Government launches ‘Corona Helpline’ in 7 languages on WhatsApp

The federal government has launched its ‘Corona Helpline’ on WhatsApp with an aim to help citizens get the latest information on the pandemic in the country.

According to the notification issued in accordance with the latest development, it is stated that citizens can get COVID-19 related information, latest statistics and information regarding the nearest labs by sending a ‘Hi’ to 00923001111166.

The ‘Corona Helpline’ is available to inform citizens in seven languages including English, Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Sindhi, Balochi and Kashmiri.

As per the statement from the federal government, the helpline was launched for the provision of latest information and bust the fake news regarding the epidemic.

Earlier this month, the government had launched a chatbot to address common concerns of citizens and give information regarding the ongoing pandemic.

‘Digital Pakistan’ initiative’s head, Tania Aidrus announced that initiative was taken to provide authentic information to the public.
