Pakistan Coronavirus Update: With 1,763 patients in critical condition, country’s COVID-19 recoveries cross 204,000
Pakistan’s coronavirus recovery count on Sunday has crossed 204,000. According to the government’s Covid-19 portal, 5,767 more people have recovered from Covid-19, taking the total to 204,276 (or 77 percent of total cases in the country).
While 1,763 patients are in critical condition, nationwide COVID-19 cases tally has surged to 264,385.
Pakistan Coronavirus Update
Punjab:
Meanwhile, Punjab reports 328 new coronavirus cases, taking the provincial tally to 89,793, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal.
The province has also reported 12 deaths due to COVID-19, taking the total to 2,079.

According to the government portal, 65,436 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh:
Sindh reports 889 Covid-19 cases, 19 deaths on Sunday.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said 889 Covid-19 cases and 19 deaths were reported in the province during the past 24 hours.
According to a statement released by CM House, 7,977 tests were carried out during the last 24 hours.
With the new cases, the provincial COVID-19 cases tally has risen to 113, 007 while total deaths are 1,993.
Furhtermore, in Sindh 3,249 children under the age of 10 infected with Covid-19.
KP:
KP reports 221 new cases confirmed on Sunday taking the provincial total to 31,890.
According to the KP Health Department, 9 more deaths were reported (3 Peshawar, 2 Nowshera, 1 each in Swat, Malakand, Abbottabad, Karak) taking the total to 1,139.

Balochistan:
Baluchistan reported 19 new coronavirus cases, taking the provincial tally to 11,424, according to the Balochistan health department.
Furthermore, no new deaths were recorded, and the overall provincial toll of confirmed deaths stands at 131.
A total of 333 tests were conducted in Balochistan during the last 24 hours.
A day earlier, the Balochistan government announced relaxation in lockdown timings, businesses are now allowed to remain open from 9 am to 10 pm
Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani has said that in view of declining cases in the province, the government has relaxed lockdown timings and allowed businesses to remain open from 9 am to 10 pm.
Islamabad, GB, AJK:
Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have collectively reported 131 new coronavirus cases and three fatalities.
The breakdown is as follows:
- Islamabad: 72 cases
- GB: 11 cases, 2 deaths
- AJK: 48 cases, 1 death
