Pakistan records lowest single-day death toll from coronavirus

Pakistan on Sunday has recorded the lowest single-day death toll since the last three months with six patients died due to the COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) reported.

As being reported, the number of fatalities in the country has surge to 5,976, in which three of the deaths were reported in Sindh, two in Punjab and one in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to NCOC.

The lowest death toll recorded previously in the country was on April 17 when eight people lost their lives due to the lethal infection.

During the last 24 hours, 553 people have tested positive for the infection while the number of recoveries reached to 248,577 patients. Over 14,003 tests were conducted on August 1.

Furthermore, it was also reported that out of 1859 ventilators allocated for coronavirus patients, 225 ventilators are occupied across the country.

Meanwhile, according to the latest data, there is no patient on ventilator in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Balochistan.

So far a total of 279,699 cases have tested positive for the disease in Pakistan, 2,086 in AJK, 11,762 in Balochistan, 2,157 in GB, 15,052 in Islamabad, 34,160 in Khyber Paktunkhwa, 93,173 in Punjab and 12,1309 in Sindh, the reports said.
