Pakistan reports 64 deaths and 1,361 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours

Pakistan has reported 64 deaths and 1,361 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

With the newly reported deaths, the nationwide tally of fatalities has surged to 12,772 on Thursday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), the total count of active cases in the country is 23,281, while the recovery rate is 93.7 percent.

In the past 24 hours, a total of 40,906 tests were conducted across the country.

Furthermore, as many as 1,681 patients have recovered from the virus in a day and 1,590 patients are still in critical condition.

Punjab in the past 24 hours has reported 583 coronavirus cases and 39 deaths.

The total of COVID-19 cases in Punjab has risen to 169,474 while the death toll is 5,308.

While, the federal capital Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan have collectively reported 216 coronavirus cases and three deaths during the last 24 hours.

Breakdown of deaths and cases recorded:

  • Islamabad: 148 cases
  • AJK: 67 cases, 3 deaths
  • GB: 1

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 208 coronavirus cases and eight deaths.  The provincial total has risen to 71,490 while the death toll is 2,058.

Meanwhile, Balochistan reported six more cases. With the new cases, the provincial tally has surged to 19,010 while the death toll remains 199.
