Pakistan surpasses Italy to become 11th most virus-affected country

Pakistan has surpassed Italy over the number of coronavirus cases, the reports emerged on Friday, as the country has become the 11th worst-affected by the novel virus, John Hopkins University revealed the data.

The National Command Operation Centre (NCOC) reported that the number of positive cases in the country has surge to 243,599 after 2,751 more cases reported Thursday.

The number of positive cases in the Italy, on the other hand, stand at 242,363, according to the data from the university’s resource center.

During the last 24 hours, Pakistan has reported 75 fatalities from the deadly virus, taking the country’s death toll crossed 5,000 mark.

According to the reports of NCOC, the total number deaths from coronavirus stand at 5,058.

According to the reports of NCOC, AJK currently has 1485 cases, Balochistan 11,099 cases, Gilgit Baltistan reported 1,619, Islamabad 13,829 cases, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 29,406 cases, Punjab 85,261 cases and Sindh is the worst affected province with 100,900 cases of the virus.

The report also shared that the total number of active coronavirus cases in Pakistan stand at 89,449, with 149,092 people recovered so far.
