Pakistan’s COVID-19 death toll surges to 4,500 with 58 more fatalities reported in last 24 hours

Pakistan’s Covid-19 death toll has surged to 4,500 on Thursday with 58 more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.

The confirmed number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan has surged to 220,239.

Furthermore, Pakistan has recorded 3,892 coronavirus recoveries during the last 24 hours, according to the government’s Covid-19 portal.

The total number of recoveries throughout the country has reached 104,694.

Sindh:
Sindh has reported 2,430 coronavirus cases and 31 deaths during the past 24 hours, according to Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

In a statement issued by the CM House, he said 9,436 tests were carried out in the province during the last 24 hours.

The provincial total has risen to 89,225 while the death toll is 1,437. The chief minister added that 36,072 patients are currently under treatment, while 754 are in critical condition.

Punjab:
Punjab reported 1,478 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the government’s database on coronavirus.

The provincial total has risen to 77,740, with 22 deaths from the virus, taking the total fatalities to 1,784.

According to the portal, 28,266 people have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.

Balochistan:

Balochistan has reported 132 new cases of the novel coronavirus, taking the provincial tally to 10,608.

According to the health department, 121 persons have died from the virus in the province so far.


Federal Capital, GB, AJK:
Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have collectively recorded 234 new Covid-19 cases and five additional fatalities.

The COVID-19 cases breakdown is as follows:

Islamabad: 170 cases, 1 death
GB: 22 cases, 2 deaths
AJK: 42 cases, 2 deaths
