Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday has urged the nation not to show any negligence against the virus in his Eid-ul-Adha message.
As the nation is observing the holiday which has come at a difficult time due to coronavirus pandemic, FO took to social media to extend eid wishes and said that the entire nation has to collectively fight against the coronavirus pandemic, in order to defeat the threat.
In a tweet, he said, “Eid Mubarak to all celebrating across the world. On this occasion, we must exercise our collective responsibility to ensure a safe & healthy Eid, continuing to flatten Pakistan’s #COVID19 curve. Wishing you all a peaceful Eid”.
The foreign minister, in a statement today, said “I have defeated the coronavirus myself”.
“We do not have to show negligence (against the virus), and have to observe the SOPs,” he added.
The minister further added that the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram is near and the nation will have to observe the same SOPs during that time.
