British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday has moved out of intensive care unit (ICU), a spokesman confirmed.
“The Prime Minister has been moved this evening from intensive care back to the ward, where he will receive close monitoring during the early phase of his recovery,” the spokesman said.
Johnson has been in ICU for three days after his symptoms for COVID-19 worsened. He was tested positive for the virus two weeks ago and at first had only “mild” symptoms.
UK announced a total of 881 new deaths of people testing positive for coronavirus in Thursday’s daily update, taking the country’s toll to 7,978.
Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, in charge as Prime Minister Boris Johnson remains in intensive care battling coronavirus, announced the figures as he warned that the country hadn’t “yet reached the peak of the virus.”
