Bandish 2 Episode-2 Review: The black magic starts working

The second episode is full of spooky vibes

ARY Digital drama Bandish 2 is a sequel to a 2019 supernatural horror series based on black magic. This episode is quite good and full of spooky vibes and moments that give us goosebumps. Performances are all super brilliant particularly this episode belongs to Sania Saeed. In the previous episode, there was not much shown about necromancy. In this episode, as the story progresses the black magic practices are shown in full swing and we see black magic working.

The little girl (Sameer’s daughter) is the first one to sense something wrong in the house. And later we see the doll scene which is too cliched.

Farhana Chachi is after Sameer and his family, she is resolute to ruin them and she also has eyes on the property as well. As the story progresses a glimpse of the past where Farhana is the root cause of a rift between the brothers is shown. We have seen that Sameer’s father has already given him his share in the property and still he is asking his brother to live with him but he refused the offer. However, Farhana wants to live in the same house as she still has eyes on the property.

It is shown that deadly sins like greed and jealousy make a person stoops so low that they get involves in such heinous sins as practicing black magic whose sole purpose is to ruin others. In the previous season, it was shown that an outsider who wants to marry a person practices magic on his wife and family. This season in particular has the significance that a person within a family can be toxic to the extent to harm them through such practices.

This episode in particular belongs to Sania Saeed. It is such a treat to watch her on screen. Being a caring mother and a kind woman she is still being nice with Farhana despite getting negative vibes from her from time to time. Farhana is such a hypocrite that she masks herself in front of them as someone who really cares and love Sameer’s family. No one can think that this woman has deadly plans for them cooking in her head.

It is such a bone-chilling moment to see the necromancy practices going, Salluhuddin Sahab has aced it, the whole setup is so horrifying and spooky that I wish they have shown that a bit in episode 1 as well. We see black magic starts working when all of sudden the guests who arrive to set the date for Rabail’s wedding start inappropriate behavior ending up breaking that relationship.

By the way, I don’t like the scene where they are literally throwing the guests out of the house that scene was unnecessary. Anyways, a very enjoyable episode, well executed, already invested in the story and characters.
