Dil-e-Momin Episode-1 Review: Beginning of an intense love trio

Dil-e-Momin the 7th Sky Entertainment’s drama serial is replacing the mega-hit Khuda Aur Muhabbat 3 from the same production house. From the first episode, the play seems to be a beginning of an intense love triangle. Dil E Momin is written by Jahanzeb Qamar and is directed by Sheharzade Shaikh. The play has Faysal Qureshi, Madiha Imam, and Momal Sheikh in the leading roles as well as, Gohar Rasheed, Javed Sheikh, Shabbir Jan, Saba Faisal, and others.

The opening scene is of our hero Momin (Faysal Quershi) reciting Azaan, it is establishing that he is a pious and all-good character. Momin has a religious inclination of mind and for him, his obligations are most important particularly his obligation to Allah. Well, Faysal Qureshi seems too old for this kind of role. Momin’s age bracket is not clear but he is shown someone in his early 30s and even for that Faysal Qureshi seems aged.

The next character we introduced is a sweet and pretty girl next door Aashi (Momal Shaikh) who seems Momin’s love interest. We know that Aashi is head to heels in love with Momin and her love is not one-sided where as her father (Shabbir Jaan) does not like Momin he calls his religious activities hypocrisy.

We have shown a scene of a prestigious elite university where Gohar (Mirza Gohar Rasheed) is chatting with his friends and a luxurious car appears from which a deadly gorgeous girl Maya (Madiha Imam) appears waving Gohar. Gohar and Maya are childhood friends, Gohar is passionately in love with Maya but his love is unrequited as she does have the same feelings for him in fact she pays no heed to his feelings. Maya is shown arrogant, proud, and self-centered. She clearly tells Gohar that she has no feelings for him and his advances merely suffocate her.

Momin (Faisal Qureshi) happens to be a newly appointed lecturer at that university and on the very first day, he snubs Maya for being late. Maya takes this snubbing too personally and she gets disturbed. We have seen that Maya comes from a broken but very affluent family. Momin loves Aashi and they often have conversations on phone too. Well surprisingly out of nowhere we have seen that Maya is falling in love with her lecturer. There is no particular scene shown in this episode where she has started developing feelings for him. Her falling in love out of nowhere makes no sense. Will Momin going to respect her feelings for him or is he going to shun her?
