Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay Ep-4 Review: The chemistry between Mehreen and Aswad is spectacular!

Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay based on Umaira Ahmed’s novel with the same title is a treat to watch for all Mahira Khan fans. Aswad’s entry into the scene has added more colors to the play. In the previous episode, we have seen Mashal reaching a new level of maliciousness making Mehreen’s life hell and in this episode, she has not stopped demeaning Mehreen in front of Aswad.

Usman Mukhtar as Aswad’s entry into the scene is like a breath of fresh air in the play. There is so much toxicity in the play created by Mashal and the whole house who conspires against Mehreen all the time. Initially, poor Aswad seems to become a part of that, he is shown what he is being told all the time. However, Aswad is shown too mature to be brainwashed like that he does not seem that naive.

Our heart goes out for Mehreen who has lost her pet bird who used to be her only confidant, she has lost her only support in the house. Shabo is kind of neutral God knows why she always prefers Mashal over her when Mashal does not even talk properly with her. Mehreen is having a panic attack, she badly needs an inhaler which Mashal has dumped into the bin. Safwaan helps her out and in the moment of gratitude, she accepts his proposal. She does that out of her helplessness and she is also broken by Aswad’s words.

Mashal is as evil as a witch, along with her mother is doing all possible attempts to demean Mehreen in front of Aswad but they are not that mean in front of Aswad’s mother. Both are extremely smart. Mashal warns Mehreen to stay away from Aswad on which she challenges Mashal that she is afraid that she might win him. Mehreen intentionally does not come to the dining room in front of Aswad and his mother telling Shabo to tell them that she has gone for combined study.

Mehreen and Aswad’s scenes were a relief in the play, in such a depressing episode where such a level of toxicity is created by Mashal and her mother, defaming Mehreen all the time with other family members. The chemistry between Mehreen and Aswad is spectacular! It seems that Aswad is not that naive enough to believe whatever Mashal is feeding his mind with, he still believes and likes Mehreen. It seems that he knows her more than herself. We need to see more of Mehreen and Aswad’s scenes and we want a little relief from that depressing and toxic environment of this play.
