Ishq Tamasha Episode 14 Review: The height of materialism!

It has been 14 weeks since we have been hooked to Ishq Tamasha and it seems, the interest just seems to be getting stronger. The drama is taking its time to build to a climax, yet its highly exciting, keeping the interest of the audience alive by bringing across major twists and turns.

From what we have seen so far, Rushna has turned out to be a very despicable human being, who cares for nobody except herself. Kinza Hashmi is amazing as Rushna, but you hate the character for valuing her materialistic wants more than relations and human beings.

Rushna had the audacity to tell Arham, how she liked her brother. And this is how Arham and Mehraab get in a brawl. The solution, the family promises to try Rushna one more time with Arham’s proposal. Mehrab calls Rushna, telling her how he needs her to accept the proposal when the family comes in this time and Rushna, considering its Mehrab’s proposal they’re bringing, agrees.

Much to her dismay, its Arham who wants to marry her and as it turns out, she rudely snubs him again. Insulting him blatantly on his face, Rushna clearly denies marrying Arham. In a rage, Arham drives out and gets into a car accident.

Everything has been mum since then. Even the promo for the next episode doesn’t reveal much. Rushna doesn’t care about anything except herself and this is where she fails as a human being. This particular character has left us with our eyes opened wondering if such people really exist.

On the other hand, Wahaaj has spotted Mirha with Mehrab and thinks his mother was right all the time. However, he finds Rushna telling him straight off that his mother threw Mirha out of the house but the reason she cannot tell him yet. Wahaj is angered and his disposition doesn’t really tell if he has forgiven Mirha or not.

We are eagerly waiting for the next episode to air so that we can actually know what has happened to Arham. Faizan Khawaja has definitely given a fine performance with Ishq Tamasha. As Arham, he’s just perfect.

Junaid Khan has to be our favorite as the calm and collected Mehrab. But we still don’t understand the obsession he has for his brother’s happiness. Did he make a promise to his parents? Why is Mehrab ready to go to any length for Arham? Perhaps Mehrab and Rushna are shown as two extremes who can go to any length of devotion or materialism respectively. While Mehrab is entirely selfless, Rushna is completely selfish. And the duo, albeit not together, have made a tamasha out of people’s lives they are involved with.

Misbah Nousheen has truly woven a beautiful tale of love, emotions and lessons. While the drama entertains, it imparts lessons too. Danish Nawaz’s direction has been spot on for Ishq Tamasha. There’s nothing too much and nothing too less, just perfect.

A riveting episode out and out, here’s waiting for the 15th episode of Ishq Tamasha next week.
