Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha Episode-1 Review: Newly started drama seems to be an intense love trio

Ary Digital’s newly started drama serial Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha aired its 1st Episode. However, this very first episode seems to be a little underwhelming. The play is penned by Jalan’s famed Sidra Sehar Imran and it is directed by Badar Mehmood. The cast of Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha is very promising, with Wahaaj Ali, Hania Aamir and Zaviyar in the leading cast and it also stars Shahood Alvi, Salma Hassan, Noor ul Hassan, Javaid Shaikh, Angeline Malik and others.

The episode begins with Saad (Wahaaj) and Maheer (Hania) the cousins who are on the way to a mehndi function of Maheer’s maternal cousin Anabia. It is clearly shown that Saad is besotted by his lovely cousin Maheer. He is too possessive about her and cannot stand anyone staring at her. Wahaaj has given his best performance, his charm and his intense performance are what make this simple story riveting.

I find the first episode bit underwhelming as there is no novelty in this simple love story. It is quite a simple love trio which seems to have the potential to become an intense triangle. We have seen Saad completely blown and smitten by Maheer when she dresses up in the Mehndi function, he cannot put his eye off her. It seems that this love is kind of one-sided as Maheer looks unaware of his feelings.

The question rises does anyone be that naive that she clearly does not see a man falling head to heel in love with her? Then there is an entry of another hero Areeb played by Zaviyaar. Areeb happens to be Anabia’s best friend and he is about to perform on her mehndi for which he gets late. Maheer and Areeb’s encounter is also quite interesting and cute. For Areeb it seems that it is love at first sight, he also seems smitten by her beauty.

Maheer seems a bit attracted by the handsome Abeer but she has not expressed it much. Anabia asks Maheer to stay with her for a night. Anabia’s family is a bit advanced compared to Maheer’s. Maheer’s father is quite conservative. She feels uncomfortable with Anabia’s friends as one of her friends has an attitude issue too. Maheer calls Saad and asks her to take her back home. Well, this friend’s session scene is not well executed, one of Anabia’s male friends behaves quite inappropriately with her and when she ignores him, he says that why she only gets frank with Areeb? Maheer is about to leave when Areeb holds her arm and stops her. What will be Maheer’s reaction?
