Ehd e Wafa Episode-20 Review: Another impressive episode!

Directed by Saife Hassan, Ehd e Wafa is growing strong week after week. It is indeed a pleasure to follow this play every Sunday which gives a much-needed relief from the stress of the entire week.

As a keen drama viewer, it feels great to watch a show after a long time that focuses on something that the younger generation can relate to, and use as a positive influence for their future.

This week’s episode was once again very entertaining and emotional simultaneously but the best part was that it was more balanced as compared to all previous episodes as for the first time we got to see all four lead characters getting somewhat similar amount of screen time instead of the episode just being focused on Saad and Shahzain’s story.

We got to see how Shehyar has made a way for himself gradually and reached the position of the assistant commissioner after securing a good position in CSS Exams. It was also impressive for the audience to witness  Sheheryar’s intelligence when he didn’t fell for Shahzain’s manipulative ploys of making him feel that he was the one who has cleared his path of reaching the position that he is on. He clearly didn’t buy it and his conversation with Sharik on call was proof of that. He seems to be the most intelligent and sensible of all four boys.

Saad embarks on his first operation to Waziristan but his side of story seemed more emotional and less enjoyable without his hilarious friend Gulzar. He has been missing in this episode and we felt his absence.

Sharik has also established himself as a reputable anchor. He joins a new channel with his partner Ramsha but his condition of working on his own terms remains intact to date. This is indeed very daring of him and his character is truly an inspiration for young journalists and those who are in the making.

There is not much progress in Shahzain’s story except that he is busy in parliament meetings and making his friends feel like he can do anything with his power and sources. Sharik has fallen for him while Sheheryar is skeptical of his ways and getting a negative vibe of him.

Sheheryar is also trying to reunite Saad and Shahzain but the latter’s resistance is annoying him to the core. He tells Sharik not to bring him again unless he agrees to meet Saad. Sheheryar feels bad for Saad when he is missing from their meetups and wants him in the gang again.

While all the lead actors delivered great performances this week, it was Ahmed Ali Akber, who stole the light in this episode. Since he was given more screen time than usual, he managed to give out one of the best performances ever. Wahaj Ali is also no less than any other actor and his portrayal of a daring and honest journalist is a pleasure to watch.

Another interesting character of the show is Dua, Saad’s love interest which is essayed by Alizeh Shah. Saad and Dua’s romantic conversations bring out the romantic aspect of the play. Their chemistry is very cute and the couple is a delight to watch on screen.

With this said, we are looking forward to another power-packed and entertaining episode of Ehd e Wafa on next Sunday.
