Fahad Mustafa opposes the trend of screening drama finales in cinemas

Popular actor and game show host Fahad Mustafa spoke against the novel trend of screening drama finales on the silver screens. The trend mainly started off after the final episode of massive hit drama serial Meray Pass Tum Ho which was screened in cinemas across the country and now other drama makers are following suit.

Fahad appeared on a YouTube web talk show recently where he strictly opposed the trend and said that dramas and films are two entirely different mediums and there is no comparison between the two.

The Na Maloom Afrad actor added that by doing this we are assuming that we are taking a step forward but in reality, we are going a step backward.

He said that more films should be made instead of bringing television content in cinemas.

“We should focus on making good films. To be honest, we have worked immensely hard in the last four to five years to reach a certain level where our films can record strong earnings. So, we need to continue this thing rather than going a step back,” he added.

He said that being a producer himself, he would never want to screen his own dramas in cinemas.

On the work front, the actor has recently wrapped up the shooting of his upcoming film ‘Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad’ alongside Mahira Khan. The film is directed by Nabeel Qureshi and is slated to release on Eid ul Fitr this year.
