Alec Baldwin’s ‘bizarre’ prop gun incident leaves entertainment world in shock
Alec Baldwin’s ‘bizarre’ prop gun incident has left the entertainment world in shock!
Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun while filming a scene of film Rust in New Mexico on Thursday, which caused the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounded director Joel Souza.
For action-related filming, the production crew use and fire blank fire cartridges, so it just ignites gunpowder which makes a bang. There are supposed to be no bullets so it’s harmless unless directly point-blank against someone.
However, his time seems like the one in charge of the gun somehow mixed up blank firing shots and real bullets and gave Alec a live gun.
And the unfortunate accident occurred.
Someone on Twitter shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the film Haloween shoot, to explain how these prop guns usually are operated during filming.
This is a behind-the-scenes clip from the Halloween (2018). Notice how there's some sort of barrier between the camera operator, and the prop gun. I'm just having a hard time understanding how this kind of accident still happens in 2021. #AlecBaldwin #HalynaHutchins pic.twitter.com/OE0WYpd1FN

The lesson of the #AlecBaldwin shooting is not that guns pose a danger to society but that liberal actors who play with guns pose a danger to society—and themselves!

Before everyone starts pointing fingers at #AlecBaldwin, I would look at the prop master first. This was an unfortunate accident. Stop throwing around the word manslaughter. He had no intention of harming anyone. #stopcancelculture

I feel sorry for #AlecBaldwin. No one comes to work hoping to kill their workmate. What an awful thing to happen. The poor guy's family. I hope all parties are getting the help they need. Just awful! pic.twitter.com/9MNAaJZjSa

As being reported, following the incident, the production of the film has been halted. The investigation is underway but authorities say no charges have been filed yet.
Hollywood producer and actor, Alec Baldwin, 68, has issued a statement in a series of tweets following the incident.
“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother, and deeply admired colleague of ours. I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred,” he said.
“I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family. My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halynak,” he added.
