Bird Box Challenge causes teen’s car to crash in an accident

Following the craze for the Bird Box Challenge, Netflix had earlier issued a public warning urging people not to copy the characters and try something similar. Nonetheless social media has been flooded with viral videos of people trying to do a number of things with blindfolds on. And now the predicted result is finally here.

A teen in Utah, crashed her car, getting in an accident while she imitated the characters of Bird Box and drove with a blindfold on. The 17 year old driver, was trying to imitate the Sandra Bullock movie where the characters blindfold themselves to protect themselves against supernatural villains who show them visions that urge them to die.

The police department in Utah, where the crash happened, said the result was “predictable” considering the teenage drifted onto the oncoming traffic with a blindfold.

Chief of Layton Police, Lt Travis Lyman, clarified that “luckily there hadn’t been injuries,” but added that he never thought he would have to warn the public not to drive with their eyes blindfolded.
