Indian film producer Karim Morani, who has produced films like Ra One and Chennai Express, has tested positive for novel coronavirus after his two daughters contracted the disease a few days ago.
According to Indian media reports, Morani has been shifted to Mumbai’s Nanvati Hospital where his daughter Shaza is also being treated.
“Karim Bhai has tested positive. The results came this morning. He will be in Nanavati for the treatment. His wife and other staff from the house have tested negative,” the producer’s brother Mohammed Morani was quoted as saying by a renowned Indian news agency.
A report in Hindustan Times said Shaza had returned from Sri Lanka in the first week of March. She is also being treated in the same hospital where her dad has been shifted to.
Quoting sources, the report said that Morani’s second daughter Zoa had returned from Rajasthan around mid-March before she tested positive for coronavirus.
