Emilia Clark had to do the ‘Robot’ for the ‘Game of Thrones’ final auditions!

The mother of dragons, Daenerys Targaryen looks fierce and most intense character in the HBO’s award winning series. But to grab this role Emilia Clark had to play a ‘Robot’ during the audition, revealed the co-creators of the series.

Who knew grabbing this role would change the course of acting career for Emilia Clark, nor did she. But before that she had to show some silliness. It was at the British Academy Britannia Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Emilia Clark was presented with the British Artist of the year award, on Friday, 26th of October. The co-creators of the Game Of Thrones, David Benioff and D.B Weiss recalled Emilia Clarks auditions for the role. It was revealed that even after showing HBO executives the pilot for “GoT,” Clarke was asked to audition again for the president of the network.

Weiss revealed, “The meeting took place in “HBO’s corporate theater, which was large, dimly lit and empty except for us two and the president of HBO, we were smiling. He wasn’t. It was quite possibly the least inviting audition environment we had ever witnessed”.
And even after that the president remained poker face. Weiss added, “Emilia asked if there was anything else she could do to lighten the mood and David asked, ‘Can you dance?’ And without missing a beat, Emilia did the robot. She did it with commitment and she did it well, and even the president had no choice but to smile. She got the job 10 seconds after she left the room and the two of us ran to tell her before she left the building because letting her get on an 11-hour flight home without knowing seemed like cruel and unusual punishment.”

And in her acceptance speech Emilia Clark joked for being accepted for the role. Weiss and Benioff, “deserved their own bravery deserve their own bravery award for hiring someone whose biggest job up until then was catering parties dressed as a Snow White.”
