Emily in Paris Season 5 Confirms Return of Antagonist Thalia Besson as Geneviève

Season 5 filming began in Rome and has returned to Paris, with the release date yet to be announced.

Thalia Besson is confirmed to return for Season 5 of Netflix’s “Emily in Paris” as Geneviève, the deceitful antagonist she portrayed in Season 4.

Geneviève, the American-French stepdaughter of Sylvie, was introduced as a seemingly ambitious intern at Agence Grateau who quickly became a rival to Emily by attempting to steal her clients and seduce her boyfriend, Gabriel.

Despite her schemes, Gabriel ultimately rejects Geneviève and tries to reconcile with Emily. Season 5 continues the story shortly after Season 4, with Emily now managing the agency’s office in Rome, where new romantic developments unfold.

Besson will appear in a recurring capacity rather than as a series regular, joining other returning cast members such as Lily Collins (Emily), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Eugenio Franceschini (Marcello), and others.

Season 5 filming began in Rome and has returned to Paris, with the release date yet to be announced.

Geneviève’s return suggests her continued role as a key antagonist, potentially filling the void left by Camille Razat’s character Camille, who is not returning after her storyline concluded.

The season is expected to focus on Emily’s complicated love life, involving a love triangle or quadrangle including Gabriel, Marcello, Alfie, and Geneviève.
